Dear friends,

The involvement of local governments in the field of festival management and other cultural activities is becoming more intense every year. In some cases, certain events even end up becoming synonymous with the area they take place in and contributing to the formation of the region’s identity, as is the case with the municipality of Byronas and its festival ”In the Shadow of the Rocks“.

• New and alternative spaces for hosting and promoting festivals.

• Alternative creation in the framework of festivals.

1. Highlighting of the possibilities offered to local governments in the festival management sector.

2. Presentation of good practices and techniques for festival management by local governments.

3. Presentation of the challenges posed to local governments in the festival management sector.

4. Recording modern tendencies in the field of festivals.

Description

Festivals as cohesive groups of interrelated art events, aiming at conveying the sense of the extraordinary into the current flow of cultural mass production, complete social calendars and the cultural agenda with a wide variety of events.

ΧΑΙΡΕΤΙΣΜΟΣ ΠΡΟΕΔΡΟΥ ΤΜΗΜΑΤΟΣ ΕΠΙΚΟΙΝΩΝΙΑΣ, ΜΕΣΩΝ & ΠΟΛΙΤΙΣΜΟΥ Δ. ΠΟΤΑΜΙΑΝΟΥ

Οι άνθρωποι, ανεξαρτήτως κουλτούρας και εποχής, αναγνωρίζουν την ανάγκη να αφιερώσουν χρόνο και χώρο για συλλογική δημιουργία και εορτασμό. Τα φεστιβάλ έχουν επί μακρόν αποτελέσει όχημα έκφρασης της στενής σχέσης μεταξύ ταυτότητας και περιοχής. Τα τελευταία περίπου 15 χρόνια, έχει σημειωθεί μάλιστα σημαντική αύξηση των πολιτιστικών φεστιβάλ στις πόλεις της Ευρώπης και των άλλων ηπείρων.

Αγαπητοί φίλοι,

Η εμπλοκή της Τοπικής Αυτοδιοίκησης στο χώρο της διοργάνωσης φεστιβάλ και λοιπών πολιτιστικών δραστηριοτήτων γίνεται κάθε χρόνο και πιο έντονη. Σε κάποιες περιπτώσεις μάλιστα, ορισμένες από αυτές τις εκδηλώσεις φτάνουν να γίνουν συνώνυμες της περιοχής στην οποία πραγματοποιούνται και να αποτελούν συνδιαμορφωτές της ταυτότητας της περιοχής, όπως συμβαίνει και με το Δήμο Βύρωνα και το φεστιβάλ «Στη Σκιά των Βράχων».
